Alexander Larin has been serving as Business Ambassador to Iraq since July 2021.

As a business ambassador, Alexander Larin interacts with representatives of Russian and Iraqi business, authorities, the Iraqi Embassy in Russia. He assists companies in finding business partners for business development in Iraq. Also assists Iraqi companies interested in cooperation with partners from among the companies of the business association.

The priority areas of the business ambassador's activities are the transport, energy and construction  industry, scientific research of cultural heritage objects.

In this regard, the business ambassador can assist in

• holding events with the participation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq (business meetings, business visits and business missions to Iraq to establish business contacts in order to enter the companies of Business Russia into the Iraqi market);
• establishing business contacts and organizing negotiations between business representatives of both countries;
• promoting the interests of Russian companies in the construction, transport, energy industries in Iraq in order to implement various projects in Iraq.

Core activity

The priority areas of the business ambassador's activities include the implementation of promising projects in Iraq:

• development of solar energy (in cooperation with Ministry of Electricity of the Republic of Iraq);
• development of projects in the field of hydropower;
• supply of metal structures to the territory of Iraq;
• development of transport infrastructure;
• implementation of scientific projects.

Planned events for 2021:

Russian-Iraqi complex expedition, which is organized to support the research of ancient monuments on the territory of Iraq. The expedition is scheduled for September and organized in partnership with the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Supplementary information

Alexander Larin is a member of the General Council of the All-Russian public organization Busness Rossia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ENERGOTRANSPROEKT, Chairman of the Council of the Tavolga Foundation.

The Tavolga Foundation is engaged in scientific and educational activities in the field of restoring the lost historical heritage of Russia and supports young scientists, historians, archaeologists, and geologists. It finances and implements international charitable projects (archaeological expeditions, exhibitions, publications of scientific articles by Russian scientists).
